Finishing Touches
Nearly done! Okay actually there is still lots of things to do before we can say it's "finished", but it's mostly cosmetic, things that don't affect the running of the studio. So as for finishing touches we really are close to opening! We've had all our equipment in storage since before the start of the build so we're really excited to get it moved in. A date has been set and now the big parts of the build have been complete, we see no reason why we can't start moving everyt

Studio Windows
The majority of the dusty work is done, so we've been working hard on the window between the control room and live room, or is that windows...? The studio walls and doors are complete and we had to make sure the the specification of the window was going to maintain the integrity of the acoustic system . Chris has made really quick and

Water In, Water Out
So after deciding to pass on installing a toilet, we thought we'd at least install a kitchen... Or at the very least prepare to install a kitchen. Remember when we toiled with the idea of installing a toilet? Well we scrapped the idea since there was a communal toilet right next to our unit, and it would have cost loads to install our own into the current waste system. Instead the studio will eventually have a small kitchen in the isolation corridor. However, we don't w

Sub-Floor Construction
This week deliveries from 3 different suppliers came with the rest of the materials for the studio floor. Remember, we can't build directly onto the concrete so there is loads of work to do building in a sub-floor. We're squashed for workspace so we're prioritising the construction of the live room floor first, when that's done we can use that floor for extra workspace. The materials we are using: 4x2 Timber carcassing Adhesive high-density foam rubber isolation tape Fo

ProRec and Unlimited partner for new recording studio in Manchester
ProRec Productions and Unlimited Productions have joined in partnership to bring a new recording studio to Manchester's music scene. Our main mission in this project is to establish professional recording facilities in a more accessible way than ever. Not only are we building a new reco
